I just submitted my scenography homework 2 days ago! It is based on your own adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, pairwork(with my buddy), of costume and set design. haha. I did the costume of course. We placed the setting in 19th century, France, where Haute Couture was born.
It was really exciting and I had a fun time designing those costumes.
Back to your writing, the lyrics match well. They confessing their love to one another. But I think it would be interesting to have a duet song based on Romeo and Juliet, (as in reference to the script like love story).

Surprise. Surprise. I just déjà vued AGAIN. lol.. Watching the love story MV, the costumes are rather similar(long flowy skirt, large dark coloured padded coat ), even the colours I chose for R+J. OMG lol..Capulet earthly colours, Montague bold colours hahaha.. it’s weird watching it because…the castles are in the Medieval Period, R+J are dressed in the Victorian and Late Elizabethan period respectively.

So here it is:
Last note on R+J, I think that it’s more of puppy love. Romeo was at first “in love with Rosaline”. As love sick or love desperate as he was, when he laid his eyes on Juliet for the first time, he exclaimed he had not seen true beauty till this night. -.-” Then he compare Juliet to the sun, stars, moon whatever, and totally forgot about Rosaline. Like dumped her. Love can be cruel, fickle at times. Notion of love at first sight: if he is really struck by a cupid’s arrow or not or is it his hormones or fickle and shallow love for Rosaline? haha. It’s annoying to think people can fall so easily for anyone, at first sight of “beauty”.
I’ve never been in love at first sight before. Perhaps never will be. Because I don’t think it will last at all. And I don’t get that “magnetic feeling”; the in love feeling that Romeo feels.
Juliet is truly in love with Romeo because she overcame her obstacles of hating Romeo as a “murderer”, forgave him and decided that she still loves him. Decided..perhaps she follow her heart.
Not many can forgive a murderer, so quickly, and still love as much. That proves the depth of her love.
At the tomb scene, when the lovers kill themselves, Romeo then Juliet, it’s a confirmation of their love. Bittersweet and romantic.
It is only in this scene that I’m convinced that Romeo is truly in love with Juliet.
All in love’s a madman or madwoman.

If im not wrong, some of us do noticed that there was a scene where Sato served a simple Japanese set meal to Jiaqi and he said “Love can be simple as serve a dish of meal to loved ones or whatever… (cant really remembered >< )”

Think I ever heard this Love story somewhere..someone told me before. Well its rather touching however sad somehow..I felt.
So many love definition all in different views. Well, it may be said that Love can be touching, loving, simple and so on. In general view, there isn’t right and wrong in Love, it’s just individual view.
However how many know what is Love? How is Simple Love like? Is Love really complicated? What complicates it? Why must it be so complicated? Why not simple? How to have a Simple Love?
Said to be easy but when one comes into such, it may not be how it was said before …

“Love Story” contradicts itself in first saying that “my daddy said stay away from juliet”, implying that her father objects the guy seeing her, then later on says “I was a scarlet letter”, implying that society, or rather, by-standers, ostracise her seeing of him. So is it her father objecting the guy or society objecting her?

If there’s one thing that I’ve learnt from your blog, it’s the appreciation of the English language and the literature associated. I’ve never noticed much about English literature, purely because I have always thought more of Chinese literature. But your entries have prompted me to think deeper into this language and how beautiful it could be.
It was such a coincidence and timely that my friend shared this poem, “On Love” by Kahlil Gibran with me just today. I thought it might interest you to see how Love, the ever-so-difficult-to-understand concept could be personified so beautifully.
