Curious Political Quotations
April 21, 2009“Perhaps it is to restrain factionalism, arbitrate disagreements, groom and assess future leaders, that the positions of senior minister and minister mentor have been institutionalised,” said Mr Ho, who feels the PAP’s “extraordinary cohesion” over five decades has owed much to “the forceful personality of Lee Kuan Yew”. — Newspaper Article “Possble Singapores, beyond Lee Kuan Yew”.
Mr Lee’s greatest legacy, he said, “is that the Singapore which he so passionately shaped will outlive not only him, but even his own party, should that ever come to pass“. — Newspaper Article “Possble Singapores, beyond Lee Kuan Yew”.
Curious political quotations I came across today.
Who knows what the future will be?
No one can predict the future.
IMO, nthing stays forever and nthing remains the same forever. Everything’s changing just as like the clock is ticking.
Interesting quote. But yet, a profound one.
Still trying to figure out the meaning…
Anyway, Mr Lee Kuan Yew is someone whom i very respect. =)
A very deep and meaningful quote
Lee Kuan Yew is a very noble person, without him
There will no Singapore today isnt it?
He deserved every respect of it…
I’m grateful that we have Mr Lee Kuan Yew for his leadership and foresight that has built Singapore to what it is now.
To say the least, we have better political stability than most of our neighbouring countries….which was proven recently how the instability or chaos can disrupt a country’s image or economy greatly.
I guess alot of us have been taking mr lky for granted.
Just think of one day when he’s not ard anymore,
What will spore b like?
What will our future be?
Yup totally agreed.
If Mr LKY no longer around, is there another person who are as good as him?
I think what Mr Lee Kuan Yew have is a heart of passion and love for Singapore. Only someone with the same passion, heart and a great vision to upgarde Singapore can maybe attend his position when his pass on.
Singapore are like a gold carpet with all the rubbish supporting under it. There are more to be done than it seems.
Future… We can’t know what will happen to us…
Anything will happen, there is too much possibility.
Vote for your future…
Hmm very futuristic…
So politically correct, so…hmmm.
Well.. As a rather typical young Singaporean, I’m not really into politics. To make life interesting during the holidays I’m having now and out of curiosity, watching videos certainly gave me insights about the governance in Singapore. You can youtube him or PAP to have a hear on the political debate that’s going on in parliament.
Best to form your own opinion rather than trust any media sources fully. =)
