The Feeling of a Heartsink

March 11, 2010

I was on the plane when I wrote this on a postcard.

Two days back in Gamagori, Japan, when I was sleeping, I dreamt that something bad happened to my mother back in Singapore. I woke up, shocked, had a bad feeling, wanted to call home immediately, felt so real, checked my phone, then reassured myself that nothing will go wrong.

It was the first time I experienced the real feeling of a heartsink, I think.

Others were close; shock, panic, disappointment, lost, heart speeding, but not a heartsink.

Deep down inside, I know that nothing will happen to her.

Faith.

& so I didn’t call.

I know that this feeling of a heartsink will be overwhelmed by the sight of my mother at the arrival hall behind the glass panel waiting for me to fetch me home later.

Everything will fall back into place, I’m sure.

    I somehow know that feeling.
I once dreamed of my brother twice within a day and everything seems so damn real.

The feeling when i woke up was uneasy, shocked. Woking up thinking he is really around me and talking to me when i know deep in my heart he is away from home for weeks.

I didn’t talk about it to him or my parents cos i told myself it must be i miss him too much and thus my thoughts gone wild…

Anyway, glad that your dream is just a dream. May U and your family stay safe. =)

I know that kinda feeling! Kinda dislike it! :(
Whenever my family members go overseas on their own, like say my grandmother, i will always feel so uneasy without them!
then i will start to think a lot,
then i will have bad nightmares at night! that felt so real!
But i would always tell myself,
Bad dreams/nightmares are always opposite of real life!

I guess many people around us would have already experienced such incidents! so it’s quite common.. But it’s nice to bring it up and share our experiences.. :)

Don’t worry so much Elvin! I guess you would think so much because you don’t really spend a lot of time with your family due to your busy working schedule! Everything will be fine! :)
It’s just a dream okay!! :D smiles! take care all!

    Love,
    Yuting. :)

I dreamt of my dad’s godmum once.

I was never close to her. she appeared in my dream one night, in the dream she passed away and she was gone the next day.

Dreams are scary sometimes. isn’t it?

Elvin, there was once i had a bad dream about my mother, felt so real until woke up & realized that it was a nightmare :( …have a terrible & violence father…eventually they divorced…do not have a pleasant childhood…lost a father’s love & protection since young…the only closest & important person in my life is my mother…I cried in the middle of the night, coz though it is just a nightmare, all of us will leave this world one day, what will I do if she will to leave me one day & left me alone? Really could not bear to let her go…What if I could not live without her & decides to leave with her?

Oooo i know this kind of feeling, cuz I ever had this experience b4, about 4years (2006) back. I went overseas with my school as an Xchange prog for 2 whole weeks, and I always felt unsafe. Maybe cuz is my first time going overseas alone and I was only sec3 then.

Think back again, I might still have this kind of feelings, cuz they are simply our beloved family members and of cuz, we want them 2 be our side at all time, but this is totally impossible, as everyone have their own lifestyle, no matter how close we are 2 our family members.

We know that they are not by our side when we go overseas alone or with friends, so we might start thinking of some negative stuffs. Either something might happen 2 us, or our beloved family members, cuz we won’t want either side 2 have bad thing happen, as we know that we would like 2 see back each other when we are back 2gether as one in our flat, and of cuz we know that we can’t live without these beloved person around us.

~TREASURE~ is the word that we need 2 know & understand. =.=

I tot I read somewhere that dreams are opposite of reality? not sure …maybe, you miss your mum really much. Whatever, like the great old saying – we should cherish our loved ones, and find time for them.

Well I had this feeling before too
But I know everything will work out in the end.

Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.

Treasure loved ones and spend time with them

haha.. it just a “day light” mare haha.. in the plane you dont sleep well la.. the sit so small n your so big size..

but it shows what you either worry of the most or missed they most. so i guess it just means you miss your mum being away..

when your used to bad dreams.. you wont be this heartsink..

when im stress, i have different bad dreams whenever i close my eyes. it this way for many years. im so use to it that i will just hug my dear pet milo n drop back to my sleep.

you know, sometime real life can be worst than a bad dream n thats the time u just want to sleep n sleep.

of coz i dont wish this is on you. so be happy n no worry.. it just a healthy bad dream.

=) haha.. u ar.. like that also scare so much huh.. lol…

Cool down, everything will be fine…
I heard that normally dream are in contrary with real life. Dun think that it’s a bad omen… Think positive :)
Just wanna say, cherish your love ones always.
    There’s a chinese saying,
“The trees wants to be calm, however, the wind keeps beating it; the children wants to take care of their parents, but they’ve left them.”
Sorry for my lousy translation, but take note of that!
