Half-empty, Half-full
May 11, 2010There is the old conundrum as to whether the glass is half-empty or half-full.
To view it as half-empty is a more negative outlook on life; to view it as half-full is a more positive outlook on life.
There is no problem, however, when the glass is empty.
There is a big problem, when the glass is full.
How I see it really, is that the glass, is half-empty, half-full.
Everybody see things differently.
It’s the same case of viewing our own life.
Be it half-empty or half full.
ur perspective is balanced, cuz there’s positive and negative in life. can’t seperate them at all.

my glass is always half-empty, does tt means i’m very negative? actually towards life, I’m more pessimistic.

I think life is not whether to see the glass half empty or half full, it is the drive to encourage ourselves to be motivated, to be carried on with our life. Sort of encouragement…..
To me, I rather the glass is not full forever so as I can push myself to go forward, to achieve my goal……It is like an encouragement……
You can say I’m greedy, cos I will forever strive for the things I want…to reach the top……forever not enough cos I see the glass always not full….
This is not pessmistic…..this is goal achiever…….to achieve the top !!!!! Yeah…Yeah….Yeah….
p/s : think I’m going crazy soon……Too much wk in office liao…..ha :)

Elvin, you are correct. The glass is half-empty, half full.
Here is what is important: Thank God that you have a glass, and that you can see it, and that you can see what is in the glass, and that you can write about it, and that you have life.
Someday, when your life ends, your glass may be empty, or it may be full. Which will it be? That’s up to you and God.

i dont really ponder about such half full half empty thing. i might jus see it as half full today n see it as a half empty tomorrow, or simply its just filled with water, it does not matter, it does not tell how positive or how negative i m in life… cos i know myself, i do not need to use a half full glass to understand myself better. haha

To me, I see it in a different way. There is a big problem when the glass is empty cos no water to drink. There is no problem when the glass is full cos there is plenty of water to drink. Haha! =D

Why view it as whether it is half-full or half-empty?
It is a glass meant to fill with some water for basic need – DRINKING..
It is a glass to fulfil our basic needs..
sometimes, it is human nature to make things complicated.

But — each person tends to see things differently, some might say it in the opposite way. So — no matter which one to choose, we should always be optimistic in everything. =)

Everyone view of matter is not the same.
It not that the glass is half-empty or half-full,its what you think and how you see the situation.
Most important is to have a positive outlook of life because positive anything is better than negative nothing.

depends on how you look at something with a different angle .
ue may actually say that there is a lot of water in the glass however the glass is just too big .
it is a positive way to view thing like that!

I am rather a pessimistic person but i think it will be just easier and more straightforward to just state that the glass is half full rather than half empty. :)
I always test my friends and family about this “half-empty, half full” old conundrum!
For me, i always see it as half-empty. D:
Pessimistic. hahaha.
However, to me, being pessimistic isn’t really a bad thing, but being optimistic is obviously a good thing. hahaha. so.. i’ll always try to be more optimistic in life. :) so i won’t feel so “hopeless”. heh.

Be it half full, half empty, it doesn’t matter does it?
How positive can be it be positive and how negative can it be negative?
The standards are just a bunch of people coming together and deeming that something should be as it is.
If we ponder into every single detail, our brain will just die on us like one day sooner.

well, i usually will view it half empty. it is nagetive thinking?
maybe. there is always space to be better and filled up with.
To me, half is neutral, no positive or negative.
That’s life, like water in a transparent wine glass.
Life is simple as water. When you empty it, that means you gave up in your life and when u fill it till the brim, then that’s the vice versa.
Decide yourself whether to make it full or empty it. Half is good, but there’s no room of improvement.
