My Unique Talent
October 9, 2010“You’re bilingual!”
“You too! You manage to use both English and Mandarin to complete a sentence!”
“I can put in the dialects too,” proudly.
I can’t believe these people. Such a sense of humour. I had a great laugh.
To be able to put in a correct mix of two languages (or more) so as to communicate your message across in the most effective manner. That’s effectively bilingual for you. What a wonderful talent unique to many of us. Now, we need to learn the appropriate time and place to display our unique talent. & when not to. =)
Well…..
If we are not careful, will become singish….

Elvin, that’s being true blue Singaporean!
We can choose to articulate well in our working language (according to MM is English) or have fun with our unique talent of speaking in different languages and dialects. Well, foreign talent in your work place won’t understand that or have the liberty to do that.
Cheers!
Yo!
We are all talented. We are all full of languages. But …..
What kind of languages – English, Chinese, (various) Dialects, or perhaps short forms (LOL/XOXO/etc)?
Being an effectively bilingual person is good mah, can communicate with all groups of people.
No chicken & duck communication. 呵呵!
