New Impetus
November 18, 2010Haven’t been writing. Loads to get off my chest. Lots of areas to cover. The reason I haven’t been writing being a piece of advice having an adverse effect on me — that words are just words, ultimately limited, that everyone has their own opinions, anyone can say anything. Devalued, I lost the belief and fervour I had, whether it was with what I said or what I wrote or just simply in myself; I felt desensitised. I was told, let your actions speak for you; now I would say no, words and actions co-exist mutually to back up each other. To deprive a word or writing the sincerity, intimacy, purity of intention, individuality, and unique voice it tries to convey is the other end of giving too much importance to it. & in a similar vein, an actor can be deemed as much a clown, a fool, a jester as he is a star, a popular figure; from as lowly as adding no economic value whatsoever to society to as highly as bringing simple happiness to the stressed masses. & whatever judgement is placed by anyone, it does not add on to or remove from its intrinsic character or role or value.
A lot of times, we might have been too caught up with trying to express ourselves; perhaps we’re free to do so, just not so freely. But really, I don’t wish to be cynical again, to doubt, to suspect, to not trust, to negate, people and life; I would very much rather give benefit of doubt, trust fully aware that the trust may be breached, believe with hope that it influences rather than diminishes, to trust when it’s prone to suspect, to believe when it’s easier to doubt. Well, at least it’s easier for the self, I think. I remember a line from a favourite character of mine, the “Clown”, in the movie The Dark Knight; he said, “Introduce a little anarchy into your life.” Sometimes, get out of that comfort zone, do things a little differently, question and challenge certain establishments. Sometimes, life is defined not only by what you have seen but what you have not seen and not only where you have been but where you have not been.
When the supposedly rational throws caution to the wind, and the spontaneous stops a moment to ponder, what comes out of it? A friend once told me, the way it plays out, “sometimes, real life can be stranger than fiction”. I agree with that.
New impetus.
I want to feel the senses and breathe the air again.
I want to live again.
I want to trust again.
I want to believe again.
Will you let me?
Try hard to be kind to others and even more importantly please be kind to yourself.
Many people are just too hard on themselves for any number of reasons…and it often leads to sadness, anger or lack of self-esteem.
Always do the best you can in any situation…but if that’s not good enough for your peers or others that may criticize and judge you…don’t get angry. Instead, just forget them.
After all, we’re all not perfect yet, okay?

Often, we are asked/told to voice out when we have doubts/thoughts. But how freely can we do it?
When we don’t share, people will think why we don’t share our opinions. However, when we voice out and it ends up offending the other party. I always feel that it’s a tough decision for me when I’m told to voice out. I tend to talk freely about it and ended up leads to misunderstandings. There are times I rather keep it o myself then.
I wish that you will find that person who let you live, trust and believes again. Stay happy, dude! =)
Words have value, they have power, because they can either give strength or destroy. What comes before action are thoughts and words are just tools of the actions one wants to convey. As long as the giver knows that he is genuine with good intentions, unlike what others would want to think otherwise of him. Conscience is clear. I wouldn’t want to bother so much, say all you want, it just shows what kind of person someone is. I hope that you are less affected by negativity and be clear of negative thoughts. Although life can be a little strange, what is life without a little bit of mystery? =) I don’t believe in anarchy though, because without laws written by God, how can one define what is right or wrong?
As long as you know your stand in the world, and have passion and love, you’ll be alright~ =)

Who cares if someone says the Arts have no economic value? It has educational value! which indirectly if you think, has economic value. hahahaa..
Am still an advocate of the Arts. No matter how big or small a role is deemed as, the sum of all parts- the whole is greater than a section itself.

Not by your circumstance but by your disposition.
Don’t think too much and just let your own mind resurface. You make me (and others) smile. So, hope your new impetus will lead you to a happier you.

The new impetus is in you – We are in control of our lives and what we want to do, where we want to go. We mustn’t let others dictate our directions. That’s something I learn and do now.
You are important for the person that you are.
Never let anyone bring you down because you are who you are and who you want to be and you don need to change to what others want you to.
Never look down on yourself,you are a wonderful and nice person and nothing can change that.
There”s such people in the world who know that others are wrong but still sided them,that is because they are exactly the same as them,heaven got eyes,they wont have a good ending.
Believe in yourself and have faith,everything will fall back into place eventually.Being straightforward is never wrong,talk freely as you have the right to do so,as long as we had a clear conscience,its all that matters.
Live happily,trust and believe the one who sincerely care for you and always there for you.
Hello Elvin, do not know much about whoever he is and whatever it was that has cast a dark cloud over you, but wish to let you know that there are many behind you, including all in my family. We enjoy watching all your shows, we refuse to miss an episode, we even like all your TV commercials. You are so natural, so spontaneous in your actions and behaviour, your smiles are captivating, the things you said command attention….. So just go on being yourself ’cause it is so well-liked and adored. Life’s journey is so short and so precious that we must ignore all negativity and always hold up high our positive thinking and attitude, as this guides our actions towards others and is our insurance for happiness.

Personally i find it tiring if we hv to put up a false front but im ok as long as ppl ard me are happy. But when its time to say the right thing, i wont hesitate. Yes, i might offend tat somebody, well, i juz need that few sincere & true frenz anyway.
Everyone is unique in their own way. I’ve come to realised, no matter how gd we are, we cant stop jealousy or stop ppl from critisizing or even accusations (tats wat im facing@my workplace). Most importantly, we live with a clear conscience & do what is right. In e past, i was so affected, return home & cry under my blanket. I wonder y they judge me based on hearsay? Now, still quite bothered but no longer cry for these ppl whom i see as pitiful souls! Knowing that there are some (or even 1) who appreciates what i hv done, is enuf.
A gd fren told me, in order to be kind to ourselves, we need to be cruel to others. I guess kind-nature ppl like us (opsy) find this difficult, but no harm being cruel once in a while =)
Let’s all live, trust & believe again! Today will be better than yesterday, & tomorrow will be better than today =)
