Hold on to Happiness
December 17, 2010A long-lost friend just sent me a message: “If U remember me… May you find happiness in the coming year.”
I just had to reply: “No if. I remember. I ll hold on to happiness in the coming year. Cos I hav alr found it. U too.”
We all have to hold on to happiness. Count our blessings.
Sometimes, we set out in search of that elusive happiness which is already inside of us. all along. The capacity and potential to be happy. Does happiness come from with-in or with-out?
A few days back, another friend sent me a message: “How do U stay happy?”
I replied: “(I don’t know about me being happy but I do feel happy) Smile. Know who U r. Love e pple around U. Stay grounded. Go along with Nature. Believe & feel.” That’s my version, what’s yours?
To find happiness; to find love. Believe you deserve it. & sometimes, it finds you.
Hold on to happiness. Hold on to love. =)
I also dunno what’s my version. Everyday facing the job that I dislike. But at least there are colleagues that I can consider them as my friends. Tho most of them are only my colleagues. Maybe spending time with my own kids is the most happiest moment. Too see them growing up each day. If they are happy, I’ll be happy too.
See u on Sun :)

Happiness is a matter of choice. It is our attitude that makes us feel happy or unhappy. We can choose to keep thinking about the unhappy events, and we can choose to refuse to think about them, and instead, relish the happy moments. I love to associate with happy people because I always believe that happiness is contagious. When I see people around me feel happy, I will feel the same too.
Anyway, thank you for sharing, Elvin. I’ve learned something new from your post today! Have a great day ahead!
hehe! u have friends who likes to send u msgs on happiness eh! Glad that you have been happy!
I’m cheerful by nature but always a little bit happier in Dec, cos there’s X’mas & 13th month! HAHAHAHA!
& when there’s love there’s always HAPPINESS!
“Hold on to happiness. Hold on to love. =)”– I like this sentence from you!
SEE YA SOON! =D
Every individual’s definition of happiness is different. Happiness to some might be to find their love of their life, some might be to excel in their carreer, and some might just even be having to satisfy their hunger and feeling contented, and that’s happiness.
But in simple, happiness is just in the state of being happy, a contentment, a joy.
Practice what you preach, Elvin. Grab on to happiness when it comes knocking on your door, don’t let it slip by! Count the blessings! And most importantly, stay happy! Follow your heart.
Smile always ;) XOXO.
Lots of love,
Yuting.
Thank you for wise words.
Happiness is certainly with-in us. We must learn to appreciate it and count our blessings though many of us tend to ‘wish for this, wish for that’…that’s the ‘greed’ of humans who long to improve their lives…again, if we do not wish, we will probably stay contented …some say this is ‘no good’ cos we are not progressing..so, life is certainly contradictory.
It is easier to stay happy if we have already satisified our needs…not all of us are that lucky thou….sometimes, we need to put ourselves in others’ shoes to understand….
QN : Why do you want to change your mercedes to a newer model or can you happy with just a kia?
Happiness and Love is priceless
Happiness comes from within
Being happy is being with the one you love, with family and nice friends, being yourself, believe in yourself and do what you feel is right.
Being contented for what you have is bliss.
Most important:Hold on to happiness.Hold on to love :-)
Is it that easy to find Happiness?
Sometimes I ponder over this.
Life is a struggle to me now, where can I find Happiness soon?
Please enlighten me
Appreciate
What encouraging words! Bright and spirited!!
I used to think the happiest time in a day is the time when i’m sleeping :)
But it is true to hold on to the little happiness in life and more will come by, for sure. If I can’t recognize the happiness in current life, I will not be able to know when the bigger one comes.
You rock!
Just want to share really neat quote with you from J.K Rowling. “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Happiness, with-in or with-out, is definitely in our control, in our hands. However it is not a choice. Many has seem to forget that it is the most beautiful source of energy and motivation one could possibly have.
You may know it best, but I still want to say this.. Smile, and be happy. Because nothing is more precious than that. (:
o~ how to be happy.. simple but yet hard to answer this qus..
to me, being happy is the hardest thing to do.. well, some can say.. be positive etc.. but come on.. life this word don’t promise a rainbow always.
depend what is improtant to you. LOVE & KINDNESS is the words for me and i try to share as much as i can. thinking others grade happniess the same way than me. however, happniess no longer by fact are affected by how you feel or like.. it also the condition and the enviroment.
i used to put love as my number 1 for happniess and i guess it still.. but i also learn too now that.. no lover can be the same.. however, you can still find love in each of them.. however, power is something that only you can build and hold in your own hand.
so to me, having power is improtant and maybe it won’t 100% keeps me happy.. but at less 98% are done. this world are no more fairy tale of love..anymore.
well, i know animals, nature and people like you who stand hard on grounds.. makes me happy. =)
Don’t worry Elvin, the happiness will chasing after us!
Interesting post! Certainly food for thought.
While it is true that all of us have the potential to be happy, our ability to harness that happiness is, to a larger degree than we’d like to admit, dependent on contingent circumstances.
So I think the real challenge is tapping on our innate happiness even in the most trying of times. Writing helps!
Everyone is trying to find happiness and to find love in their own ways.
There are times when I thought I have met my soulmate and it turned out to be untrue. True love is elusive and it is hard to accept disappointments.
Learning to be contented and hold on to life’s simple pleasures are are mportant to face the challenges that life throws at us.
True.
