4D5N Singapore
July 29, 2011It’s strange to go on a holiday in your own country, how often do you do that? 4D5N Singapore. When you’ve been away for a while and will be away for a while more.
Familiar yet estranged at the same time, you learn to see the everyday things and routine that you do in a more beautiful light, and you learn to appreciate them, and be grateful for them.
Apart from, needless to say, family and my favourite people…
I miss driving my car, wherever, it will take me, therapeutic, the comfort of being in the driver’s seat, the liberty and spontaneity to do so, sometimes top down and wind in my face.
I miss playing soccer with the usual group, the partnership, the freedom of expression and play, the happiness of a child at the playground.
I miss sleeping in my own bed, like most would, tucked in, pampered, safe, and I miss showering in my own bathroom, most myself.
I miss jogging, a proper path, at the beach, to sweat it out, and I miss going to the gym, not that I loved it before or love it now.
I miss the sights and smells, the clean roads.
I miss opening the house lock.
I miss the routine and the lifestyle.
I miss writing, the inspiration to write.
It’s not so far away now…
I look forward to my own homecoming.
Welcome home soon =)
Hello!
人往往要等到失去后才会懂得珍惜。:)
Who will miss all the daily routines unless you’ve to be away for some time.
I believe it will make you appreciate the routines you used to have in Singapore a little bit more now. Just a month more. You will be home before you know it! xoxo <3
hi.
Once u been away from home just oni a few days or one week or month for something hv to do most times will miss the life u having on before away for sometime ~
the same for me. im coming back home and for good.
the longer you’re out there.. the harder you are able to be back.
as both side becomes your home. leaving which and reaching each side are the same sets of feeling of saddness and happiness. i look forward to my handsome milo. i wonder if he remembers me? just to think of reaching the door which i had last see him calling out for me not to go.. make my heart pinch up itself. i got ready a ball and a coiler as a gift for him.. and i am going to hand carry it back home for him. i make sure that door opens again.. he’ll see my hands full of love for him and his coat will be wet by my tears for sure.
i missed the swimming pool than the gym… plus my fav kaya toast.. local milo drinks.. and the countless food. the easy life style. the everything internet and it done. busy stop just right below the house. i’ve not even see the marina sand etc..
i think i go back i’ll have lots of shocks..
and like one big swah ku..
hahaha..
cant wait to be back.
At first read, I thought you really sign up for Singapore tour package. Like what!? Hahaha… Nice one. Good morning! =)
Will miss everything about Singapore too if I study abroad (but I’m also very excited to go. UK I think?) =)
When you’re away from home for a long time, you’d just want to get home also immediately, the sense of longing may turn into the sense of perserverance.
See u soon idol! We miss u !
Can sense how much you miss Home, Elvin :-(

Life is interesting. U r there, wish to be Home, here i am, wish to leave these daily routines. haahaa

We miss u! Come back soon!:)
I know how it feels to be away from home. You will be back before you know it. Jiayouz! Can’t wait to see you. :) Your fan, Sandy
Awww… Welcome home Elvin! Hope to see u soon! :)
elvin!! welcome back home…. miss youuuuu alot ^^
I can feel how u feel :)
I remember when my 1st trip to Malaysia, a few years back. I went Ipoh…a place where there’s not many traffic lights, underpass, street lamps….or even public transport….so little to be seen. Instead I saw mountains, hills, messy traffic, rubbish everywhere, and also mosquitos buzzing here and there….since then I begin to appreciate my home, my bed, my toilet, our streets, our roads…
In the meantime, jus bear with it for another month or so and soon u will be back to your home sweet home. And by then, u might start to miss otah-otah, chendol, ice kachang……
See u soon
Welcome back, Elvin! :)
Poor sister, living in a hell with abusive husband. Suffering in silent and wash face with tears as her son get beaten up by crazy husband. She wants to stop but the more she fights in protecting her son, the more he will beat the son.
If there is fairness, why allow such abusive husband to live well? Can you believe such abusive husband is a devoted religious person who does volunteering work and even a marriage advisor in church?!!??
This is why old people used to cry ‘marriage is a gamble’ to women. Is either ‘win’ or ‘lose’.
No matter how finanical independent she is, she will still choose to suffer in silent for the sake of giving her children a completed family. This is one of the wonders of woman but can be quite silly too depending on how one sees.
We as outsiders have no right to say right or wrong when it involves domestic issue. All we can do for my sister is pray hoping that one day her husband will change for the better and cherish her and appreciate her for giving him two wonderful children and a wonderful wife and mother.
This is why someone says ‘the only day a woman is the happiest is only at her wedding day’. I agree with a big sigh.
Hi Theresa,
I am sorry to hear of your sister’s unfortunate plight. It is agonizing to hear that there are such men around who ‘abuse’ their power at home.
Does he even to know what Jesus said?
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” [Matthew 7:21]

Saddening to even see someone living a double life. Does he have multiple personality disorder??? That’s possible. Another possibility is he doesn’t know how to educate his son properly and wisely. Beating up a person harshly won’t change, or correct his mistake, instead only physical and mental damage is done. May lead to more mental problems in future, also, it must be traumatic for his wife to witness it all.
Of course praying does help, however, you need to be cautious if her family situation is getting worse.
Call social services before it is too late. Don’t worry, social workers and police force are there to help.

Even today, there’s no guarentee that marrying the person that you supposedly know and love would give you a blissful life. Counted blessed if there’s no violence of any sort. Seen some cases of unhappy families.
Hmm 4d5n? You meant 4d3n or 6d5n? No matter what you do, enjoy to the fullest and take care! *Ding Ding*
We must appreciate the things that surround us, when the situation has change, we need to adapt on it, because this is life, rejoice always, think positively Elvin :) 加油!
Haahaa, 4d5n is possible :-)

In life, i guess people tends to miss many things around us without knowing.. the best thing is that doesnt lead to regrets :) as long as whatever you miss, comes back…
